Once a Star Always a Star***

Professional Football (in America) has it right. Players have multi year contracts, but there not guaranteed. Last years star can get dropped this year for a multitude of reasons including; perceived loss of value, a strong up and comer ready for more playing time, or even CAP issues (the equivalent of a budget cut in business). Bottom line is that your only a star for the current season.

What if business approached their own Stars in a similar fashion? What if stars were not treated as Stars each new fiscal year?
